Snows Motor Group has helped raise more than £16,000 for Portsmouth area hospitals after sponsoring this year’s Queen Alexandra Colour Dash.
The Stellantis division of Snows – which includes the manufacturers Peugeot, Vauxhall and Leapmotor – was the headline sponsor of the annual Queen Alexandra Colour Dash at Staunton Country Park in Havant. As well as having cars from all three marques on display, Snows made a substantial donation to the cause.
Snows Motor Group represents Stellantis brands at a number of dealerships across southern and South-West England. One of its busiest sites is in Walton Road, Farlington, where customers can check out Vauxhall, Peugeot and Leapmotor models with the help of friendly and knowledgeable sales teams.
The Colour Dash – the second event of its kind to benefit wards and departments across Portsmouth’s hospitals – was organised by the Portsmouth Hospitals Charity. As well as QA, other local NHS facilities will benefit from the money raised.
The 200 or so participants took part in a five-kilometre fun run during which they were showered in non-toxic corn-starch powder in all the shades of the rainbow. Even dogs were allowed to join in since the powder is completely harmless!
Embarking on the course wearing plain white T-shirts, fund-raisers walked, jogged, or even danced their way through various colour stations, crossing the finish line in a thoroughly multi-coloured state.
Each person taking part was asked to collect a minimum of £50 in sponsorship – and it’s estimated that more than £16,000 will have been raised once all the money has been gathered in.
