TrustFord has picked up an international environmental award for its efforts to cut emissions across its UK dealership estate.

The Ford dealer group has been named a winner at the Green World Environment Awards, which recognise environmental initiatives by businesses, organisations and communities around the world.

TrustFord, the UK’s largest Ford dealer group, was recognised for work to improve the energy efficiency of both new and existing properties.

Measures introduced across the group include air source heating, solar power generation, LED lighting, underfloor heating and improved building management systems.

A major part of the programme has been the installation of photovoltaic (PV) solar panels at TrustFord’s Ford Store Dagenham and its Parts Plus Distribution Centre in Thurrock.

The installations allow the sites to generate renewable electricity on-site as the dealer group looks to reduce its overall carbon emissions.

TrustFord has also achieved external environmental accreditations as part of its wider ESG strategy.

The Green World Awards are organised by The Green Organisation, an independent, non-profit environmental group which aims to recognise and promote environmental best practice internationally.

Stuart Mustoe, chief executive of TrustFord, said: ‘We’re incredibly proud to receive this international recognition for the work we are doing to reduce our environmental impact.

‘At TrustFord, environmental responsibility is a core part of our wider Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy, and we are continually looking at ways to reduce emissions and improve the efficiency of our properties.

‘This award is a great recognition of the progress we have made, but we know there is still more to do.

‘We remain committed to building on this work and making positive changes across our business.’
