Vertu has expanded its partnership with Burnley Football Club to become the Premier League side’s front-of-shirt sponsor for the 2026/27 season.

The car dealer group’s branding will appear on the shirts of Burnley’s men’s, women’s and academy first teams as part of the new agreement.

It represents a major expansion of Vertu’s relationship with the Clarets, which began ahead of the 2022/23 season and has since included sponsorship, community projects and fundraising initiatives.

Vertu was previously Burnley’s official automotive retail partner and appeared on the back of the club’s shirts during the 2022/23 campaign.

Its Bristol Street Motors brand was then promoted by the club during the 2024/25 season as the dealership group celebrated the brand’s centenary.

Bristol Street Motors has since been consolidated into the Vertu retail brand as part of the dealer group’s wider rebranding programme.

Robert Forrester, chief executive of Vertu, said: ‘We are delighted to strengthen our support for Burnley Football Club by becoming front-of-shirt sponsor for the 2026/27 season.

‘Over the past four years, our partnership with the club has been about much more than what happens on the pitch, and we have developed a strong relationship that has allowed us to work together to really benefit the local community.

‘Burnley FC sits right at the heart of that community, and this new, enhanced partnership will allow us to continue working on programmes that we know will have a huge impact on people and communities across East Lancashire, whilst also increasing awareness of the Vertu brand as we continue to grow.

‘We wish Nicky Hayen and his team, and everyone associated with the club, the very best of luck this season and are looking forward to a successful campaign both on and off the pitch.’

Vertu’s relationship with Burnley began during the club’s record-breaking Championship-winning 2022/23 campaign and has subsequently grown beyond traditional sponsorship.

Its annual Festive Food Drive at Turf Moor has provided support for families during the winter, while the retailer has also worked with Burnley FC in the Community on local projects.

The dealer group will retain a significant matchday presence at Turf Moor under the new agreement and continue its community work, including through its nearby Vertu Land Rover Nelson dealership.

Burnley chairman Alan Pace said the front-of-shirt deal was a ‘natural next step’ in the relationship.

He added: ‘Vertu has been a valued and trusted partner of the club, and this new relationship is a natural next step for two organisations that share a commitment to ambition, innovation and long-term success.

‘From our very first conversations, it was clear there was a shared vision for what this new partnership could achieve, and we look forward to working even more closely together and creating exciting new opportunities for our supporters throughout the season.’

The partnership will also include supporter content, experiences and other activations throughout the 2026/27 season, with further initiatives due to be announced.
