Car Planet is working hard to improve its customer experience following a number of negative comments on social media.
That is according to boss Faheem Miah who has admitted that online criticism has been difficult to deal with.
The used car supermarket group has enjoyed huge growth over recent times, going from 30 to 2,000 cars in just four years.
However, despite having a 4.6 star score on Google, the firm has come in for criticism from some quarters.
Car Dealer reported in July how disgruntled customers staged a protest outside the Hertfordshire site after one buyers claimed a £13,000 second-hand car he bought developed several problems within days.
Other customers have joined a Facebook group to voice their own complaints, something Miah admits is ‘not nice’.
Appearing on the latest episode of the Car Dealer Podcast, he said: ‘The Facebook groups, the online comments and stuff, it’s not nice.
‘It is part of the game when you grow so quickly, certain things don’t go our way. But it’s something we’re always looking to rectify.’
Miah said the business was focused on resolving problems before they escalated into one-star reviews, with a dedicated aftercare specialist calling customers one day after they buy a car.
The firm has also developed its own customer satisfaction system after deciding traditional surveys were reaching too few buyers to provide useful feedback.
Miah says the system was designed to identify unhappy customers and give the business a chance to put things right.
‘We can only say we’re sorry. We’ll pick up the phone to you. We’ll try and make it right. And hopefully we can come to an agreement. And that’s what we always do,’ he said.
‘Of course, it’s about dealing with everything in between before it becomes a one-star, and that’s what we’re working on.’
