Cazoo has responded to requests from car dealer customers to add WhatsApp functionality to its mobile website and app

The move will allow car buyers to communicate directly with car dealers via the popular messaging service, said the company.

The addition of WhatsApp functionality is the result of direct feedback from car dealers, Cazoo confirmed.

Free for dealers and available now, the addition of WhatsApp is expected to deliver fast response times as dealers will be able to access customer messages on their mobile phones.

Car buyers using the service can continue conversations by asking follow-up questions, while keeping the full message history in one place.

Lucy Tugby, chief marketing officer of Cazoo, said: ‘We have introduced WhatsApp to the Cazoo platform following requests from our dealer partners.

‘We listened and responded, reflecting our commitment to build tools and products that solve real challenges for dealers.

‘The rollout follows our commitment to deliver a friction-free online search experience for car buyers and enhanced ROI for dealers.

‘With WhatsApp used by millions of consumers, this is a familiar and intuitive way for car buyers to contact dealers.

‘Richer conversations will help buyers get the information they need quickly, helping them make decisions on the cars they have seen online.’
