Barretts Motor Group has added to its portfolio of franchised car dealerships by agreeing buy two sites from rival outfit Broad Oak.
The dealer groups have agreed terms on a deal that will see Barretts buy Broad Oak’s of Nissan and Kia dealerships in Kia, for an undisclosed fee.
The move strengthens the family-run retailer’s presence in Kent, where it already runs two Mini showrooms as well as JLR, Honda and BMW Motorrad sites.
Bosses have now pledged to deliver a ‘seamless transition’, with the existing team staying at the site after transferring from Broad Oak.
Following the takeover, the firm says car buyers will now benefit from ‘high-quality customer care, modern showroom environments and comprehensive aftersales support’.
Confirming the news, managing director Paul Barrett said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Nissan and Kia customers into the Barretts family.
‘Both brands are known for their innovation, reliability and growing electrified line-ups.
‘This expansion enables us to broaden our representation in Canterbury, while continuing to deliver the personal, customer-first approach we’re known for.’
The latest news comes after Barretts enjoyed a stellar 2025, which included winning sales prize at JLR’s Retailer of the Year awards.
