TomTom for iPhone

Time 3:07 pm, June 15, 2009

tomtomiphonesmallSAT nav manufacturer TomTom has announced it will be putting its navigation on Apple’s iPhone.

The software will be available as a download this summer from the app store and will turn the popular smart phone into a fully-fledged route guidance system.

The move is likely to be a popular one as the iPhone has been lacking a sat nav application since launch – and TomTom’s software is extremely good.

The system will work as an application that users will download from Apple, but they’ll also be an additional TomTom car kit. This is said to enhance the phone’s current GPS receiver as well as offer a secure dock, clear voice instructions and hands free calling – all while charging the phone at the same time.

As yet the price and release date have not been finalised, but as soon as we know more we’ll let you know.

However, you can sign up for news here in the meantime at the website below where you can also see a video presentation of the kit.
