RAC Dealer Network members are being given access to a new tool designed to help them price and manage used car stock.
StockSmart has been developed by RWA Automotive using market data from Cazana to provide dealers with trade and retail valuations within seconds on a phone or tablet.
The service is being launched to around 1,500 members of the RAC Dealer Network, ahead of a potential roll-out to other customers later on.
Features include comparisons with similar vehicles advertised nearby, showing asking prices and how long each car has been listed. The data is intended to help dealers identify when prices need adjusting to remain competitive.
StockSmart can also display a dealer’s entire forecourt profile, flagging vehicles that are overpriced or have been in stock too long.
Other features include checks for outstanding manufacturer safety recalls, full MOT histories and advisories, and images from previous adverts to help dealers assess a vehicle’s history and prepare listings.
Beth Isaacs, director of commercial and partnerships at RWA Automotive, said the tool would give independent dealers access to pricing intelligence that larger dealer groups had used for years.
She said: ‘StockSmart gives the independent dealers of the RAC Dealer Network access to the same kind of pricing intelligence larger groups have had for years.
‘It means they can price competitively and get stock moving faster – without the hours of manual research otherwise needed.’
Over the past two years, RAC Dealer Network has introduced services including customer reviews and feedback through JudgeService and AI-enhanced imaging through Vehicles in Video.
StockSmart will be available free of charge to members for the first month, with a discounted rate applying afterwards.
