Hendy executive Duncan McPhee has raised almost £4,000 for cancer charities after completing the gruelling Tour de 4 cycling challenge.
McPhee, who is currently serving his 12 month notice as chief operating officer at the South Coast-based dealer group, took part in the event over the weekend alongside his wife and friends.
The fundraiser, set up by legendary cyclist Sir Chris Hoy, supports those affected by cancer after the Olympian was diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer in 2023.
McPhee first launched his Tour de 4 fundraiser two weeks ago, revealing that his father is currently undergoing treatment for prostate cancer.
At the time of writing, his GoFundMe page has raised a whopping £3,757 – well above the original £2,000 target.
Writing on LinkedIn, he paid tribute to friends, family and colleagues from across the motor trade who had donated to his cause.
He said: ‘Mixed emotions after completing the Tour de 4 with my wife and friends.
‘Sadness for those who have lost their life to this disease. Hope that those with cancer can beat it. Inspired by those taking part today who are currently fighting the fight against cancer.
‘Privileged to have been part of this great event. Cancer is everywhere and taking part in this event really makes you reflect on what is important in life. Be in the moment and live your life!
Be where your feet are! (quoting Sir Chris Hoy). Thank you to all my friends, family, colleagues and acquaintances who have donated to my fundraiser for the Prostate Project. If you haven’t donated yet, it’s not too late.’
Tour de 4 participants could choose from four challenges: a 56-mile road ride, a 37-mile road ride, a 1km family ride or a static-bike challenge inside the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow.
The event began last year, with the 2026 edition held yesterday (Sept 6).
