Mazda is backing its dealer network to sell significantly more new cars in its UK showrooms, following the arrival of three new models.

The Japanese brand is targeting higher retail sales in 2027, in the first full year of availability for the new Mazda6e, CX-5 and CX-6e.

It is expected that the trio will help to improve dealer profitability across Mazda’s UK network, which has also been earmarked for wider growth.

As part of planned expansion, Mazda is looking to add representation in four areas where it already has existing sites – Birmingham, Milton Keynes, Plymouth and Portsmouth.

The brand also wants to expand its authorised repairer network, mainly through existing dealer partners.

The plans have been shared exclusively with Car Dealer, ahead of wider circulation later this week.

Bosses say Mazda is also targeting higher used-car sales through its recently launched Mazda Selected approved used programme.

Jeremy Thomson, managing director of Mazda Motors UK, said: ‘As a franchise, we’ve had successful partnerships with our retailers, some for as many as 50 years, which shows our belief in working collaboratively with entrepreneurial customer-focused businesses.

‘2026 is a key year for Mazda. For the first time we’re launching three new models in less than six months, triggering the next phase of growth but with a strategic focus on driving more profitable sales through the network.

‘In December, Mazda UK will meet senior network partners to outline the next phase in this growth strategy and share the product journey to 2030 and beyond, tailored to the unique needs of the UK market as the industry and legislation continue to evolve.’

Looking ahead, the Mazda6e and third-generation CX-5 launch this month, while the CX-6e will follow later in the year.

Meanwhile, the December meeting with senior network partners will set out the next phase of its growth strategy and provide more detail on its product plans through to 2030 and beyond.
