Vauxhall chief’s new role

Time 5:47 pm, January 25, 2013

VAUXHALL’S chairman and managing director, Duncan Aldred, has been appointed acting Opel/Vauxhall vice president, sales, marketing and aftersales.

Aldred, 43, who was appointed MD in 2010 and chairman last year, will take on the new acting role with immediate effect in addition to his two positions in the UK.

The news has come after Alfred E. Rieck, 56, a member of the Opel management board responsible for sales, marketing and aftersales, resigned from his position.

‘We respect Alfred Rieck’s decision and wish him the best in his future endeavours,’ said Opel supervisory board chairman Steve Girsky.

‘Day in and day out, Duncan Aldred delivers clear proof that our business plan works and our attractive models are the key to success.’
