Vertu Motors has relocated its Sheffield Mazda operations after investing in a state-of-the art new site for the business.

The Car Dealer Top 100 retailer took on the Mazda franchise in the Steel City when it acquired Burrows Motor Company in 2024.

The acquisition saw Sheffield become Vertu’s third Mazda site alongside dealerships in Hamilton and Redditch but it has now been decided a new location is needed to provide a more central base for customers across South Yorkshire.

The ultra-modern new facility will now offer an expanded selection of used vehicles alongside parts, servicing and other aftersales facilities.

It will also be able to showcase Mazda’s expanded new car range, with the new CX-5 and Mazda6e already available in showrooms and the CX-6e due to arrive later this year.

Commenting on the dealership’s new home, Jamie Priestley, general manager at Vertu Sheffield, said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Mazda Sheffield to its new home at Attercliffe Road, creating an improved environment for both existing and new Mazda customers.

‘With the recent introduction of the all-new Mazda6e and impending arrival of the all-new Mazda CX-6e, this pair of exciting new EVs make this a great time for this new site to open, as we expect both to be hugely popular.’

Vertu chief executive Robert Forrester said the relocation reflected the group’s commitment to Mazda and its South Yorkshire customers.

He said: ‘This relocation reflects our ongoing commitment to Mazda and to customers across South Yorkshire region.

‘Mazda continues to introduce exciting new models to the market, and our new location provides us with the perfect platform from which to showcase these models while maintaining the levels of service they have come to expect.

‘With familiar faces making the move to the new location, customers will continue to receive the same high standards of service, while benefiting from improved facilities in a more central and accessible location.’

Mazda Motors UK managing director Jeremy Thomson said the move came at a good time for the business as the manufacturer expands its range.

He said: ‘Mazda’s heritage of beautifully designed driver’s cars and Vertu’s reputation for customer centric service, will have a fantastic new and conveniently located home.’

The new Sheffield operation, based on Attercliffe Road, is one of six Mazda dealerships across Yorkshire.
