Mitsubishi has ramped up its return to the UK with the appointment of 24 new dealer partners.
The Japanese brand announced it would be returning to the UK last November and has been rebuilding its dealer network ever since.
The latest appointments bring the brand’s total UK network to 58 locations dealerships and 117 outlets overall, including pre-existing aftersales locations.
The expansion includes long-standing Mitsubishi franchise holders Magna Motors in Dorchester and Poole, Westaway in Northampton and Livingstone Motors in Hull, all of which continued to provide aftersales services after the brand pulled out of the UK in 2020.
As well as the familiar faces, a number of new names have also signed up with the brand, including KT Green in Leeds, York Van Centre and Oliver Landpower in Buckinghamshire.
Toby Marshall, managing director of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, said the company had been building its sales representation ‘at pace’ during the first half of the year.
‘We are delighted to confirm the appointment of 24 new sales partner dealers,’ he said. said ‘Our sales representation continues to build in line with our development strategy, ensuring comprehensive coverage of key UK regions.
‘We have established our new sales representation at pace during the first half of this year, with an incredibly enthusiastic response from our new retail partners as well as customers.
‘We have also welcomed the market introduction of the all-new L200 Series 7 pickup and new Outlander PHEV, with both models receiving an extremely positive reception.’
Among the familiar names to take on a sales site is Tees Valley Mitsubishi, which will also continue its existing aftersales operations.
Managing director Neal Gibson said: ‘We have had many conversations with customers about new models arriving. That day is here and sales so far are extremely encouraging, proving there are many customers out there loyal to the Mitsubishi brand.’
Baylis has also opened a new Mitsubishi sales showroom in Cirencester, one of the brand’s traditional heartlands.
Director Andy Robbins said: ‘Mitsubishi Motors is a strong brand with a significant car parc in this region, and both Baylis and Mitsubishi enthusiasts are delighted to see sales and aftersales activities united once more.’
The latest appointments cover locations across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
