VEHICLE auction company BCA has moved to buy the used car purchaser We Buy Any Car, according to a statement from BCA.
‘BCA has signed a deal to purchase WBAC although the transaction is still subject to clearance and not yet finalised. Given this situation we are unable to comment further.’
Neither party were willing to comment further.
The deal could see the trade-orientated BCA expand into the consumer market. We Buy Any Car has brought cars from 425,000 people since its founding in 2006.
Thanks to TV advertising campaigns We Buy Any Car is a high profile company, and the buyout by BCA would go further than providing extra stock for the auction house company – possibly giving the auction house a higher profile with consumers.
We Buy Any Car also has an American arm, although it is not known whether this will be included in the deal or its impact on BCA.
