Big Motoring World hits the big time with Motors.co.uk

200912bmwBIG Motoring World, the UK’s largest independent used BMW dealer, has confirmed that 25 per cent of its cars sold in March and April 2014 were generated from its partnership with Motors.co.uk and its network.

Big Motoring World operates three prestige car super-sites plus a state-of-the-art handover and preparation centre in Kent. The business has seen sales grow from its partnership with Motors.co.uk since the launch of its TV campaign in January this year.

Peter Waddell, chairman of Big Motoring World and winner of the Outstanding Achievement of the Year at the Car Dealer Used Car Awards 2012, said: ‘Back in January, when Motors.co.uk launched its TV campaign mid-month, our analysis confirmed that they were generating 14.2 per cent of our sales, which was a good result in itself.

‘However, in February, we saw a steep jump to just over 24 per cent and then we broke and maintained 25 per cent thereafter in March and April. We are selling more used cars than ever and are actively looking for additional premises to cope with the demand.’

The Big Motoring World sites typically stock 2,000 used cars between them, predominantly BMW. Data analysis shows that Motors.co.uk generated sales across the board, with sales matched for not only 1, 3 and 5 Series, but also flagship models such as the 7 Series, X5 and X6 models.

Andy Coulthurst, managing director of Motors.co.uk, said: ‘As more and more of our dealer partners share their data with us, it is clear that our ongoing TV campaign is driving in-market car buyers with significant budgets to forecourts. This increased volume of leads of the highest quality is creating the “perfect storm” for our dealer partners, who are then capitalising by delivering a first-class experience and closing significant levels of additional sales.’
