FERRARI is celebrating after the first six months of 2011 were the best in its long history.
Revenues for the Italian firm were up 19 per cent, the number of cars delivered was up 11.8 per cent, net profits were up 23.5 per cent, and retails was also up 45 per cent.
Strong sales of limited edition models including the 599 GTO and SA Aperta and continued good sales of California and 458 helped the six month record.
UK sales of Ferraris increased by 50 per cent to 289 cars in comparison to the same period in 2010, while the USA remains the biggest market for the Italian sports car maker with 939 cars delivered between January and June – up 23.2 per cent.
Greater China is now the second biggest market for Ferrari with 378 cars delivered, up 116 per cent.
JAPANESE EARTHQUAKE
Meanwhile more than 200 Japanese Ferrari clients have donated more than €500k at a Ferrari auction for earthquake victimes.
The auction was held at the Italian embassy in Tokyo to collect money for the city of Ishinomaki, which was severely hit by the earthquake in Japan in March.
Ferrari also donated the first FF for the Japanese market, along with Scuderia Ferrari signed memorabilia, and the funds will be used to build a new school for the children of Ishinomaki, one of the towns worst hit by the earthquake and tsunami.
