1baeb1ba-242b-4efa-9029-a838913850d9GLYN Hopkin Nissan has been appointed as the exclusive retailer of the car maker’s interpretation of London’s iconic black cab, unveiled earlier today.

The dealer group will sell the model – based on Nissan’s successful multi-purpose NV200 platform – from a purpose-built, ultra-modern showroom in Canary Wharf.

Located on a prime site on Marsh Wall, the new dealership is set to open in February or March and will be the same size as a traditional nine-car showroom.

Inside though, it will offer a unique and bespoke experience tailored specifically to the needs of taxi drivers and operators.

A taxi sales specialist has already been recruited and will join the Glyn Hopkin team in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, Glyn Hopkin director, Ken Birch, has been appointed taxi director and will directly oversee the project.

Fraser Cohen, Glyn Hopkin’s managing director, said: ‘We are really excited by the opportunity to be sole representatives for this product.

‘We went through a rigorous selection process, but right from day one everyone in the company, from Glyn down, has been very keen to be involved.

‘We’ve been involved with Nissan for 21 years this year and we think it’s a huge opportunity we think we can make a great success of it.’
