BLACKBALL MEDIA is delighted to announce the appointment of James Batchelor as the new editor of Car Dealer Magazine.
Batchelor takes up his new post today (January 7) and will take full editorial control of the award winning motor trade publication, its website and popular iPhone and iPad editions.
The move sees founding editor James Baggott, who started the glossy monthly magazine for the motor trade with a personal loan in February 2008, take a back seat from day-to-day editorial operations to focus on developing new areas of the Blackball Media business.
James Batchelor, 23, said: ‘I’m tremendously happy to take up this important role on the Headline Auto Best Business Publication of the Year.
‘In February, Car Dealer celebrates its fifth birthday, and I have been lucky to be a part of the magazine for the past two-and-a-half years. I hope, with the help of a brilliant team, to take Car Dealer to the next level.’
Blackball Media managing director Baggott added: ‘I am delighted to appoint James to head up the magazine in what will undoubtedly be our most exciting year ever.
‘As Blackball Media has diversified into different areas of the motor trade, including content provision for international websites and PR, my time has increasingly been stretched. This appointment will free me up to ensure the business runs smoothly and develops while leaving “my baby” in a very safe pair of hands.
‘James has made a huge difference to the success of Blackball Media. He has worked extremely hard on vital accounts for the company and won Rising Star of the Year award for his writing in Car Dealer. I’m confident the magazine is in a very safe pair of hands.’
