Marshall’s new director

nigel-ward-12FAMILY-owned dealer group Marshall has appointed Nigel Ward to the position of franchise director.

In the role, Ward will be responsible for running the group’s recently acquired Mercedes-Benz and smart dealerships in the north west.

Ward joins the retail executive board of Marshall from Inchcape where he was sales & marketing director of that company’s three Mercedes market areas. He  has a wealth of experience in the retail motor industry including seven years of in-depth knowledge of the Mercedes- Benz and smart brands.


Daksh Gupta, Chief Executive of Marshall said: ‘I am delighted to be welcoming Nigel to our senior team at Marshall and to our new Mercedes division. His wealth of Mercedes- Benz and multi-site experience will be invaluable to us.’

Marshall acquired the seven Mercedes-Benz and smart businesses in the North West MA5 market area at the end of 2010, based in Bolton, Blackburn, Blackpool, Preston and South Lakes.

Commenting on his appointment, Ward said: ‘Marshall is a fast-moving and forward looking retail group which is investing heavily in the retail motor industry. I am excited to be joining the company at such an exciting time in its own 101 year history and look forward to getting to know my new colleagues in the MA5 businesses and across the rest of the group.’


Ward joins Marshall towards the end of April.
