Mercedes-Benz and JCT600 open pop-up store in Sheffield’s Meadowhall shopping centre

Time 5:13 pm, February 22, 2018

MERCEDES-BENZ and JCT600 have opened a new pop-up store in the Meadowhall shopping centre in Sheffield.

The temporary shop allows customers to have an up-close look at the German marque’s most popular models, as well as finding out more about the rest of the range.

The three cars on display in the store from opening are the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, GLA and Smart ForFour. The shop also features a Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One simulator, where motorsport fans can compete for the fastest lap time.

There’s a range of Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One, Mercedes-AMG and Smart merchandise on sale, with a dedicated children’s clothing section. Also available to buy are other Mercedes-Benz Collection items, such as keyrings, baseball caps, jackets and luggage.

An AMG sound wall has been set up, which allows customers to hear all the different engine notes of the various Mercedes-AMG models. Another facility the store offers is the ability to book test drives.

Since Mercedes-Benz pop-up stores first launched, more than a million customers have visited them in total, proving the concept to be an effective way of raising brand awareness.

The joint venture store is located on the ground floor of the Meadowhall shopping centre and is open Monday to Friday 10am to 9pm, Saturdays 9am to 8pm and Sundays 11am to 5pm. The shop will be removed on April 4.

John Tordoff, CEO of JCT600, commented: ‘We’re really thankful to Mercedes-Benz UK for supporting us once again with this project.

‘It’s the second time we’ve had a Mercedes-Benz pop-up shop in Meadowhall and, if it’s as successful as the first time, then we’ll be celebrating record merchandise sales and, no doubt, a few car sales by the end of the project.

‘We’re expecting to welcome over 100,000 visitors to the store in the short period it’s open and that will give us a great opportunity to get people who may not have previously considered Mercedes-Benz before really engaged with the brand.’
