37917peuA CAR dealership in Devizes is counting the cost of repairs after a vehicle crashed into its forecourt.

A man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and later for dangerous driving after colliding with the vehicles at Fussell Wadman Peugeot in Wiltshire on November 30.

According to The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald, a black Renault Megane was reported to have been travelling at speeds of 70 to 80mph along London Road in Devizes.

The vehicle then lost control on a roundabout at Hopton Industrial Estate causing it to collide with vehicles on the forecourt of the Peugeot dealership.

The damage is estimated to have cost the business tens of thousands of pounds, while two other vehicles were also reported as damaged in Hilliers Road the same morning – police believe the incidents could be connected.

The 26-year old driver was released on bail pending further enquiries.
