UK start-up Heycar strikes new data partnership

Time 10:12 am, September 4, 2019

AUTOMOTIVE data expert Cap HPI has announced a new partnership with Heycar to supply vehicle provenance and automotive data.

Heycar, a new online marketplace for used cars in the UK,  is backed by Volkswagen Financial Services and Daimler Mobility. It was launched in Germany two years ago and has now arrived in the UK.

The platform will benefit from a broad range of Cap HPI data including VRM look-up, vehicle data and valuations for its consumer-facing valuation tool and finance calculators.

Heycar says it aims to bring greater trust and transparency to the market by creating a superior user experience for consumers and dealers. It launches with an inventory of more than 100,000 listed vehicles from nearly 50 brands across 1,400 dealerships.

It partners with selected dealers and only lists vehicles that come with a warranty, are under eight years old and have fewer than 100,000 miles on the clock.

Ian Denny, head of digital media at Cap HPI, said: ‘Heycar is already a key player in the German automotive market after a short period of time and it’s great to partner with the brand as it looks to make its presence felt in the UK. Cap HPI intends to provide an integral service offering across its new UK business.’

Ed Stafford, chief technical officer of Heycar, said: ‘This partnership is great news for Heycar. Cap HPI provides a range of data and technology services that is unrivalled in terms of accuracy.’
