Ultimate website for sale

Time 4:37 pm, May 8, 2008

LOOKING for the ultimate web domain name for your dealership? Then you may be in luck – if you’ve got a few spare thousand!

American firm eAutos International contacted Car Dealer magazine as they wanted to tell UK dealers that they plan to auction www.eAutos.com on its website www.greatdomains.com.

The Washington DC company will begin the auction on Thursday May 22 and it will have a reserve price of a whopping $20,000 or just over £10,000.

If you wonder why the price is so high, it’s been buoyed by the fact Autos.com sold for a staggering £1.1m when it sold way back in 1999.

The upcoming auction is expected to generate significant interest from across the world.

‘eAutos.com is an ideal domain name for use by large multi-location or multi-brand automotive dealers who want to create a central Internet entry point with links to their dealerships, or for dealers or suppliers that want to focus on Internet sales with a short and easily recognizable domain name,’ said Larry Hinman, managing principal with eAutos International.

‘Because of the ease of recognition, the eAutos.com domain name is also perfect for the creation of an automotive portal site.’

Great Domains has been the domain broker for many of the world’s highest priced domain name sales, including the recent sale of Pizza.com in March 2008 for $2.6 million.
