Used car customers are travelling further for the right car

0910-042USED car buyers are travelling further for the right car, according to RAC BuySure.

Dealers operating under the RAC BuySure initiative are reporting that the used car package is encouraging more and more customers who search for their next vehicle online to drive beyond their usual distances for the right car.

RAC head of dealer propositions, Mario Dolcezza, said: ‘This is something that we are seeing widely reported. Customers who research online are willing to drive further for a used car sold under RAC BuySure because they believe in the credibility of the RAC brand and know that the vehicle will be in excellent condition – It will not be a wasted journey.’


One dealer to report an increase in non-local buyers is Richard Swaffield of Cavanfields Auto Centres in Tidworth, Wiltshire. He said that a number of his customers have travelled considerable distances, such as Devon and London to buy a quality used car from his dealership.

He said: ‘In our online adverts, we include images of the RAC BuySure document wallet and warranty booklet, together with the service history, and have had positive comments from customers who have travelled some distance to get to us.

‘These customers trust the fact that the RAC are putting their name to the BuySure package and that the inclusive RAC Warranty can be used at any garage in the country rather than having to bring the car back to us. They will drive many miles for the right car.’
