Volkswagen Exeter gets the green light

Exeter Volkswagen.JPEGPLANS for a 35,000sq ft Volkswagen dealership in Exeter have been given the green light.

Showcasing Volkswagen’s new ‘Retail Concept’ which focuses on clean, unfussy interiors and spaciousness, the design of the dealership will create a landmark entrance to the new Matford Green Business Park.

The dealership will be the first scheme to be built on the business park and comprises of a 22-car showroom and a 15-bay workshop, plus a large used car display area, with additional parking capacity provided on a roof deck.


Designed as a low energy, sustainable building, the scheme is set to achieve high environmental credentials, including a BREEAM rating of ‘Very Good’.

The new Volkswagen dealership will replace the existing facility, which has operated from its current premises in Marsh Barton for 25 years. Construction is scheduled to start late spring 2014.
