BMW is to get a new boss in the UK and Ireland, with Neil Fiorentinos set to step into the hot seat later this year.
Fiorentinos will become Chief Executive Officer of BMW Group UK and Ireland from September 1, replacing David George, who is leaving for a ‘leadership opportunity’ elsewhere.
The new man has been with BMW since 1994 and has held a number of senior leadership roles across the organisation, including CEO of BMW Netherlands and President and CEO of BMW Group Asia.
He currently works as as CEO of BMW Group Central and Southeastern Europe based in Salzburg and oversees commercial operations across 12 countries.
George departs after two-and-a-half years in the job, having previously worked for the brand’s German rival, Mercedes.
BMW has now paid tribute to the outgoing executive, saying he has ‘played a key role in maintaining BMW’s leadership in the UK premium segment’.
Bosses now say that Fiorentinos brings ‘more than three decades of international experience’, as well as ‘broad expertise from across BMW Group’.
They are now backing him to drive the ‘continued success and development of BMW Group UK and Ireland’, although the appointment remains subject to FCA approval.
