Cambridgeshire car dealer Pilgrims of March has gone into administration following confusion when its doors closed at the end of last month.
On December 10, the business officially appointed administrators on Companies House but customers were still left not knowing how they would retrieve vehicles locked inside.
One customer, Anthony Briggs, posted on Facebook: ‘To the lovely people of March, can anyone help me? I have one of my vehicles now locked in Pilgrims of March’s yard with no way of getting it out due to the closure.’
Two weeks before, on November 24, Car Dealer reports that both sales and service hadn’t opened with surprised customers still arriving for booked appointments.
A resident posting anonymously, said: ‘I had my car booked in today and got down there at 08:30 to find the gates padlocked and no sign of any staff.’
Local resident Ben Clark added: ‘I went and test drove a truck last Saturday, rang up Monday morning hoping to put a deposit down to later find out on Wednesday they had closed indefinitely.’
The closure followed all directors except for Gary Keith Robinson being terminated on Companies House.
Joint administrators Andrew Mark Bland of DMC Recovery Limited, 41 Greek Street, Stockport, Cheshire have now been appointed.
The business had been in operation for 40 years and was the only Ford dealer serving the local area.
Car Dealer attempted to contact Pilgrims about the comments made on Facebook but they did not respond.
