Three hundred apprentices to be given the opportunity to join Arnold Clark

Time 11:15 am, February 14, 2018

HUNDREDS of budding motor industry professionals will be given the opportunity to join the Arnold Clark Group this summer.

Open to anyone over 16 years old, Arnold Clark will be offering 300 apprentice roles at its near-200 sites across the country.

These apprenticeships encompass roles such as technicians, spray painters, body repairers, IT, engineering, customer service and business admin – and give an opportunity to earn a recognised qualification on the job.

Suzanne Sherry, apprentice recruitment manager at Arnold Clark, said: ‘This year’s recruitment drive demonstrates our continued commitment to the apprenticeship scheme and to creating new jobs throughout the UK. It’s important for us to introduce a younger and more diverse workforce to the Arnold Clark team.

‘We know that there are still some gaps in understanding; from the age at which the apprenticeship journey can begin, to the benefits it can bring. Little by little, we hope to eradicate any misconceptions about apprenticeships, and to raise awareness of them as a viable and hugely rewarding career path.’

Xsara Meiklem, an apprentice technician, added: ‘I’d definitely recommend an Arnold Clark apprenticeship. Every day I’m learning and I’m getting to try things I never thought I’d be able to. Everyone’s been fantastic in the garage and so helpful. I really enjoy my work and look forward to it – I’m always up early!’

Potential candidates should have, or should be currently studying for, Standard Grades (1–4), National Grade (4/5) or GCSE (A–C) in subjects relating to the apprenticeship.

Applications for vacancies in Scotland are open as of writing, and will remain open until March 9. Applications for vacancies in England will open on March 12, and run until April 6.
