22.04.10: Our latest fundraising idea for BEN!

Time 2:37 pm, April 22, 2010

porsche_logo-thumbCAR Dealer is taking on a new challenge to raise money for automotive industry charity BEN.

It’s called Trading Up and will see us start with a car worth around £250 – or better still find a company to donate one to us – which we’ll sell on.

Once sold, we’ll roll the entire fund on to buy another car through trade channels. And then do it again. And again…

We plan to keep doing that until we’ve traded up to a PORSCHE. And no, we’re not talking a 924 here – we want a 911!

Ok, that sounds a bit ambitious – but we’ve got to set our sights high, haven’t we?

Once we’ve got that far, we’ll sell it (somewhat reluctantly, no doubt) and hand over all the money to BEN.

Sounds simple, but we know it will be anything but. We’ve already talked to a few very helpful dealers and have some potential leads for our first car– and there’s a very good chance one might donate us a motor to kick start our feature.

We also plan to get as much help and advice from you guys in the trade too – you are, after all, doing what we’re trying to do every day. We’ve had lots of offers of help from motor trade suppliers too which should give us an advantage when it comes to finding the right cars.

Keep an eye on our website and forthcoming issues of Car Dealer to see how we get on.

Hopefully later this week we’ll I some news on whether we’ve got our first car. Fingers crossed!
