AHEAD of its half year results, Vertu Motors has declared the consumer environment both ‘challenging and volatile’.
The dealer group has issued a trading update which outlines the business’s growth before the official six month results are published next month.
Despite the difficult consumer environment, the update continues: ‘The group has continued to trade in line with market expectations.’
Yesterday, the group acquired the share capital of Widnes Car Centre (1994) Limited, which includes a Nissan dealership in Widnes, Cheshire, and a mobility vehicle conversion business based in Batley, West Yorkshire.
The mobility vehicle conversion business, which includes both Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles and more tailored vehicle adaptations, previously traded under the Versa trade name and will now trade as Bristol Street Versa Mobility Solutions.
The acquisition takes the number of Nissan dealerships operated by the group to four, and the total number of outlets to 83 – 80 franchised and 3 non-franchised sales outlets.
Vertu will announce its half year results on October 19, 2011.
