Arnold Clark Recognition Awards celebrate employees’ achievements

Time 9:45 am, November 12, 2019

THE Arnold Clark dealer group recently held its biggest ever employee event – the 2019 Recognition Awards, to honour the hard work and dedication of its staff over the past year.

The glittering ceremony was hosted by TV sports presenter and pundit Peter Martin at the SEC Armadillo auditorium in Glasgow.

It acted as a graduation ceremony for many people who have completed training, and also recognised long service achievements, community involvement and outstanding customer service.

More than 1,100 people attended the event, with employees joined by family members and guests. Arnold Clark Group directors were present to hand over the trophies.

As well as enjoying a drinks reception before the main event, guests took their seats to the beats of Scottish drum and pipe band Clanadonia (main picture) with more entertainment provided by magician Ben Hanlin.

The evening opened with a speech from the group’s chief executive and group managing director, Eddie Hawthorne.

He said: ‘On behalf of everyone at Arnold Clark, I’d like to congratulate you on your fantastic achievements in 2019. You put in the hard work, went the extra mile and showed real dedication every step of the way. I hope you continue your amazing efforts in the future, but tonight, please enjoy this very special celebration of your success. Well done!’

Apprentices graduated across a number of disciplines throughout the Arnold Clark Group including:

• Aftersales and parts
• Bodyshop
• Spray painting
• Light vehicle technician
• Service adviser
• Customer service
• Business and administration

Those gaining professional qualifications – including transport managers, driving instructors, sales staff and accountants – were also recognised.

The ceremony culminated in a number of special accolades, with community awards recognising branches who had made a contribution to their local area and customer awards recognising those who had delivered an exceptional customer experience.

Finally, those who had worked for the company for 25 years or more were presented with long service awards. In total, more than 500 individuals were recognised on the night.
