Bangers4BEN 2015: The Bangers Are Ready To Roll

Time 4:18 pm, October 9, 2015

WITH only one day to go before the bangers gather at Silverstone, entrants are starting to reveal their creations.

And we must say, we’re beginning to get a bit of Banger envy.

Especially when we saw Prestige Diesels’ Gulf-liveried Mitsubishi FTO in an exclusive behind-the-scenes video released by the Portsmouth garage yesterday.

The rare car, of which there are only around 200 in the country, cost Alexis Cassey and co-driver Scott Shilcock just £400, and it was only once they’d purchased it did they realise how much of a steal it was.

Boasting a sparkling new paint job, courtesy of Express Paints and A & B Printshop, and decals from Fizzy Prints Ltd, the car now looks far from a banger, which is what they were going for.

Alexis said: ‘Prestige Diesels don’t do bangers, so we took a banger and made it prestige again! We want to raise the most money of charity at auction.’

All of the work done on the car was free of charge and, by selling sponsorship for the car, the team has so far raised almost £1,500.

For Alexis, the part of the trip she is most looking forward to is the BMW museum. That and the driving!
