289479fe-ad4c-41f9-98a3-d6c5b1a61871A CLASSIC Golf GTI Cabriolet which was donated to BCA has raised more than £3k for charity.

As reported earlier this week, the low-mileage, one-owner Golf GTI drop-top was donated to BCA Blackbushe and was to sold with all the proceeds going to Help for Heroes.

The ‘F-reg’ car had just 89,000 miles on the clock and came with the original VW branded shopping bag and matching baseball caps sold with the car when it was new.

It eventually sold for £3,200 to an online bidder with BCA also donating the buyer’s fee to the charity raising a further £200. BCA also delivered the car free of charge to the winning buyer.

BCA Blackbushe manager, James Gibson, sold the car and said: ‘We were delighted to raise so much money for Help for Heroes from this generous donation. There was some spirited bidding in the auction hall and online, reflecting the very good cause the sale of this VW Golf Convertible was raising money for.’
