Experience future in-store technologies coming to dealerships at CDX 2019

Time 2:38 pm, June 4, 2019

THE future might be online but that doesn’t mean dealerships should feel left in the dust. With more complicated systems on vehicles, the role of retailers is arguably more important than ever.

That’s why at CDX 2019 our Dealership of the Future zone, in association with GardX, will be showcasing some of the incredible technology you should be adopting.

As the industry accelerates its adoption of technology in dealerships, there is more for dealers to learn – and buy. That’s why we hope this new zone will offer an insight into what is available on the market and how it can add value to your business.

Zone sponsor GardX will bring together these digital and physical moments in the sales process, with its 360 product getting consumers closer to the cars from the comfort of their homes, while its in-store products will be on display, offering more ways to maximise profits and enhance the customer experience.

Speaking about Dealership of the Future, head of GardX Advantage Victor Lloyd Coutin said this change in strategy was necessary for his business as much as it was for dealers.

‘We realised that unless we adapted and made our model more online, our dealers’ penetration – and therefore our sales of products – was going to decline.

‘We’ve got our own digital journey map that shows how these products can be introduced to the consumer as soon as they begin engaging with the car, which we’ll be showcasing on the day.’

He added: ‘Dealers will maintain the penetration and the profit margins that they get from their add-on product sales. The danger is that if this journey goes online, there’s less opportunity to engage with your customer and explain the benefits of your paint protection, your Gap insurance or your wheel guard.’

From the start of the process, before a customer even reaches a dealership, it’s possible for them to complete the entire purchase online. Dealership of the Future will let delegates see this in action and understand how it could work for their dealership with integrations from GForces.

Crucially Digital will demonstrate how dealers can bring their showroom and the sales process to life via the latest showroom displays and will be powering amazing tech not only in this zone but throughout CDX. There will be several products on show at the show, including one launched in conjunction with AirShroud.

Geof Jones, the founder of Crucially Digital, said: ‘Most of the technology we do enhances the customer experience in the dealership by reducing wait times or giving information they wouldn’t necessarily see picking up a brochure.’

Meanwhile, Autopoint Lockers from eDynamix will demonstrate ways that dealers can make the aftersales process more seamless for customers with a new digital strategy. The company will also be offering a very special deal of 10 per cent off the monthly subscription to anyone who buys an Autopoint locker at the show!
