Ferrari F40 comes a cropper in traffic lights collision

Time 1:25 pm, April 29, 2014

f401-750x448OOPS! This was the scene when a Ferrari F40 was involved in a collision on its way back to a car dealership in Canada.

A mechanic at Ferrari of Ontario was returning from a road test when the accident happened. As he took a left turn, the driver of a Dodge Dart went through a red light, and ploughed straight into him.

Neither driver was hurt but both vehicles sustained significant damage in the accident, the aftermath of which was caught on camera by photographer Matthew Berenz.

The Canadian website The Garage Blog notes that some 1,315 F40s were built between 1987 and 1992, adding: ‘There are roughly 10 examples of the car here in Ontario and there is no word yet whether this car belongs to a customer or to Remo Ferri, the owner of the dealership.

‘Originally retailing for about $400,000 USD when they were new, some recent sales have topped $1million with reports of prices reaching as high as $1.6million.’
