Time 5:12 pm, January 31, 2012

ITALIAN firm Fiat has announced prices and specifications for its 2012 model year Punto hatchback.

The Fiat hatchback has been revised with new interior detailing; three new body colours; and a new front-end styling; and the range now begins at £9,990 OTR for the Pop 1.2 8-valve model.

Standard equipment in the entry-level Pop model includes remote central locking, electric front windows, driver and passenger airbags, window airbags, radio/CD/MP3 player, electric power steering and height-adjustable driver seat.

The range tops out at £15,600 for the Lounge 1.3 MultiJet version which features automatic dual zone climate control, leather steering wheel, front fog lamps, seven airbags, cruise control, ambient interior lighting and electric sunroof as standard.

The Punto will be available initially with a choice of six low emissions Euro 5 engines – and with a TwinAir version coming in April – all fitted with Start&Stop as standard.

‘The Punto range has been – and still is – an important car in the Fiat line-up, and we’re delighted now to be able to reveal prices of this latest evolution,’ said Elena Bernardelli, marketing director, Fiat Group Automobiles UK.

‘Punto is up against some tough competition in its sector but we are confident that we are able to offer an attractive package at exceptional value-for-money prices to keep it a viable and desirable proposition.’

The range goes on sale this month.
