FLAG’s new website

Time 4:48 pm, October 15, 2010

computer-mouse-desk-copyTHE Fleet Auction Group (FLAG) has relaunched its website with a host of new tools and functionality.

The new site features the ‘Vickrey’ – described by the company as an ‘eBay like’ auction facility – and a virtual showroom for specialist stock.

Registered buyers will be able to take advantage of Vickrey’s automated proxy-bidding in online auctions of refurbished and high-quality defleeted Motability vehicles.

The weekly auction runs for a set period of time – 05:00 to 15:00 – and is for stock that has not been previously presented to buyers.

FLAG’s key accountant manager and auctioneer Steve Clarke said: ‘These vehicles will not need inspection visits as buyers will have the confidence that they have been prepared to an industry recognised standard, and come from the respected and verified Motability stable.’

The new system allows bidders to place a single bid each time, or enter a proxy bid. An ‘Auction Over Run’ capability also features which stops buyers from ‘bid sniping’ in the last few seconds of the auction.

The facility will have a fixed buyers’ fee of £150 which will include delivery and each sale will present approximately 50 vehicles a week and will run on Fridays.

Fleet vendors are also catered for with the new service. The ability to view online, up-to-date stock reports, sold and net settlement reports, inspection reports, and the option to showcase vehicles of special interest in a virtual showroom, also feature.

In addition, the new FLAG system also allows registered buyers access to detailed catalogue information and vehicle images, and the ability create their own wish-list for vehicles.
