BLACKBURN’S Hippo Motor Group has announced an exciting new building project which will lead to the creation of 20 new jobs.
The new building, close to the current Hippo HQ, will house six more vehicle preparation bays as well as seven more ramps for maintenance and repairs.
There will also be three paint booths to make sure all aspects of vehicle prep can be done by the Hippo team.
As well as the preparation and repair side of the business, a lot of thought has been given to the amount of office space the team will need in the future. As the company’s Trident Park HQ is close to capacity, the new building, due to be completed in September, will be able to provide plenty of extra desk space.
Hippo Motor Group has experienced seriously impressive growth since its formation in 2007. It was founded by father and son Richard and Tom Preston.
The Prestons wanted to create a one-stop shop for the motorist, and started in a small office with one member of staff, before moving into Burnley with a showroom and a four-strong sales team.
In October 2013, the team packed up and moved over to Trident Park in Blackburn. There, they were able to start showcasing a wide selection of prestige, used and lease vehicles as well as carry out their own servicing and repairs.
Turnover now exceeds £30m and already in 2015, the group has announced a number of appointments in the sales teams and expansions of other departments including marketing, logistics and aftersales.
The latest plans will double the capacity of the aftersales department.
