Kia appoints new UK marketing director as brand’s momentum continues

Time 5 years ago

KIA Motors has appointed David Hilbert, 38, as its new UK marketing director with effect from September 1.

Hilbert has joined Kia from Toyota, where he was general manager of vehicle marketing for three years.

Before that, he held a variety of marketing, sales and purchasing roles at the company.

A graduate of Loughborough University, he worked in high street retail before joining the motor industry.

Married with two children, Hilbert said: ‘I am really excited to be joining Kia at this point in time – the brand has gone through a massive change over the last few years and has surprised motorists and the industry alike with its focus on design, reliability and appeal.

‘There have been some amazing products recently – the all-new Sportage for example – and I know there is a great deal more to come.

‘Kia has a fantastic dealer network – some of whom I know from my Toyota experience – and is committed to providing the very best customer experience both in sales and service. It will be my job to ensure that growth continues and that we work together to make the Kia brand even more surprising and satisfying.’

Simon Hetherington, commercial director at Kia, said: ‘We are very pleased David is joining us as our momentum and growth continues and with four all-new models on the way in 2017.’
