70948motorp-2MOTORPOINT has officially opened its new car supermarket in Chingford, Essex.

Launched with a ‘Clicks and Bricks’ event last week, the car supermarket is now officially open for business – located on Lea Valley Road, Chingford.

The site, which spans 3.7 acres, is Motorpoint’s sixth showroom in the UK – with others located in Derby, Burnley, Glasgow, Newport and Peterborough – and can hold as many as 500 cars on its forecourt.

Chingford is Motorpoint’s first site in the South East, though, rivalling London-based car supermarkets such as CarGiant, Unbeatable Car and Car Craft.

Motorpoint says the showroom has contributed ‘£2 million to the local economy’, and is responsible for the creation of 50 new jobs – with around 5,000 cars expected to be sold from Chingford per year.

‘This is a significant step for Motorpoint,’ said Motorpoint owner and managing director, David Shelton. ‘We want to bring our winning formula of great deals and happy customers to Essex and London, and we’re proud of our new site here in the South East.’
