IMG_5697THERE’S a new name for Mitsubishi in Leeds: Luscombe Mitsubishi.

The new dealership has opened its doors on the site of the former Robert Bowett showroom in Low Road, Hunslet.

The change of ownership has happened because Luscombe Motors has now purchased the whole of Robert Bowett Motoring, having acquired the Suzuki franchise from the company in 2010.

Managing director Robin Luscombe said: ‘I am very pleased to have completed the purchase of the remainder of Robert Bowett Motors. It’s early days in our relationship with Mitsubishi but everything is going well so far.

‘We plan to concentrate heavily on selling used Mitsubishis too.’

The addition of the Mitsubishi franchise to Luscombe Motors has almost doubled the number of staff employed at the company, which now has 34 people on the payroll. The showroom also has space for five cars.

Mitsubishi Motors in the UK is currently the country’s fastest growing manufacturer, selling around 40 per cent more cars so far this year than in the first six months of 2012.

Lance Bradley, managing director of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Robin Luscombe and his team to the Mitsubishi family.

‘Luscombe Mitsubishi is joining our network at a very exciting time and we naturally wish the business every success.

‘We are attracting more and more customers to our brand, with great cars and first-class customer service, and we are sure Luscombe Mitsubishi will become part of our success story very quickly.’
