Time 3:45 am, September 10, 2013

Kia - Stockton StoryA NEW used car showroom, built on the site of a derelict pub in Bury, has officially opened.

Owned by the RRG Group, the new garage replaced the Derby Arms pub and Texaco petrol station, which were knocked down in preparation for the expansion of RRG Kia, on Bolton Road.

The showroom floor space has been increased by 80 square metres, providing the site with a larger customer parking area and floodlit display area.

According to the Bury Times, the £1m development will also see the garage’s workforce grow from seven to nine full-time employees.

Joint managing director of RRG, Tony Cliff, told Bury Times: ‘Our relationship with Bury goes back over 35 years and we are committed to our ongoing investment into this important part of RRG’s history.

‘In total we now employ more than 200 people in Bury and have invested more than £1m to ensure we continue to provide our trademark quality and expertise for our customers in the area.’
