Project Stealth: Tints are done

Time 7:47 am, September 10, 2010

photo-12OUR Project Stealth team have been on the road since 5am Wednesday on their round-the-UK trip to get our car ready for Bangers4BEN.

Commercial manager Dunc and worky James Batchelor arrived in Scotland Wednesday afternoon at Carwrapz.biz’s Edinburgh base.

The wrapping wizards worked on our 1.4-litre Honda Civic late into the evening on Wednesday and then yesterday started another 10-hour stint.

This wrapping businesses takes time to do properly and one thing’s for sure, CarWrapz weren’t going to let our boys go with a half-arsed job!

Problem was our intrepid travellers were due at window tinters Pentagon London this morning at 9am, but the wrap was only completed at 10.30pm last night!

They were faced with a six-hour drive south and arrival at their hotel at 3am this morning – so, being back at base, I got online and booked them a place to stay near Newcastle.

Tired and groggy they left before dawn this morning and are making their way to Pentagon for the finishing touches to be applied to Project Stealth.

I’m told the car looks amazing and that the matt black finish is breathtaking – I can’t wait to see it for myself later today.

We’ve got most of our outfits sorted too – the only bit that’s missing is the pilots helmets which we ordered from China. They haven’t arrived yet and we’re starting to worry. They’re the finishing touch to our costumes and we’ll be depressed if they don’t turn up.

But suppose it serves us right for ordering from China.

Bangers4Ben starts on Sunday morning and we’ll be tweeting about our progress to Monaco and back as often as we can. We’ll also be updating this blog with the latest news throughout the event which finishes next Wednesday so stay tuned.
