Saab caps running costs

For £49.99 a month, this covers both routine servicing, plus wear and tear items like brakes, tyres and exhausts.

It’s a step on from an all-inclusive service plan, and could be a draw to customers seeking to forward-plan car running costs.

What’s more, it also ensures Saab vehicles remain in the dealer service network – for all aspects of vehicle maintenance.

Dealers will be reimbursed for all parts and labour costs during routine servicing, plus additional essential repairs to any wear and tear items – including disc and drum brakes, clutches, steering joints, shock absorbers, exhausts and wiper blades.

The ‘Service and Maintenance Plan’ is an extension of Saab’s conventional three-year warranty, with the same controls in place. Thus, it does not include accidental or malicious damage, which would normally be covered through the owner’s insurance policy.

It’s available on new Saabs purchased from authorised dealers during the first three years or 60,000 miles of ownership.

‘Most motorists today appreciate the importance of routine servicing,’ said Saab aftersales operations manager John Harris, ‘but it is not easy to predict how much the cost of wear and tear on your car can add up to over the first three years.

‘Our new initiative ensures that there are no nasty surprises further down the road.’
