DSC_3999A FAMILY-OWNED dealership in Northern Ireland, Shelbourne Motors, is celebrating an impressive 40 years in business.

The dealer, based in Portadown, just west of Belfast, was founded back in 1973 as a simple petrol station – selling a small number of new and used Toyotas.

Over the years, the garage expanded – with a workshop, parts and service building opened in 1975. Next came a purpose-built Toyota showroom in 1977 in 2003 a franchised Nissan showroom was added, and more recently the firm has included franchises for Renault too.

Driving the celebrations of the milestone are ‘two fantastic campaign offers’ for buyers. The firm has already sold a selection of 40 cars to buyers at cost price, and handed out £1,000 to four lucky customers in February.

‘To this day Shelbourne remains the longest established privately owned Toyota Franchise in Northern Ireland, and we are proud to have played a pivotal role in the phenomenal growth and popularity of the Toyota brand right across the province,’ said Richard Ward, Shelbourne Motors director.

‘2013 will be another landmark year for the company and we look forward to seeing all our customers over the next 40 years, whilst welcoming many new customers to the Shelbourne Motors experience.’
