Gallagher was established in 1927 and has expanded globally since then, working closely with its clients to help them face with confidence whatever challenges are thrown at them.
There can be no denying that the pandemic has brought many challenges with it, and Gallagher was heaped with praise from its happy customers who took part in our survey.
Leon Bosch, managing director of its UK automotive arm, told how proud they all were to have won the award, saying: ‘It’s testament to all the hard work and effort that the teams have put in during these unprecedented times.
‘But more so than ever, being voted for by the readers is just a great testament, knowing that what we are doing and working hard to try and deliver great service has been noted.’
We had a huge number of responses to the survey and Gallagher really rose to the top in this category, with fantastic comments from customers and readers, clearly showing that it was doing a very good job and Bosch said they had been ‘truly humbled’ by the feedback.
It’s been very busy for Gallagher over the past few months and it hasn’t been easy.
Bosch told of going through the pain of having to explain the pandemic exclusion clause in policies, but once they’d moved through that phase it was a case of working out how they could help customers with their cash flow.
This included, for example, payment holidays and reducing risk exposure in their insurer’s eyes – something that obviously went down well.
What was it that set Gallagher apart from the others, did he think?
‘One thing that we pride ourselves on here is we’re fully immersed within the sector,’ said Bosch.
‘I urge all my team to gain their MIMI [Member of the Institute of the Motor Industry] qualification on top of their insurance qualifications, and just to go through and understand everything that the sector is going through – we can live and breathe it too.
‘We’re then able to put together a proper risk-management programme or insurance policy that’s actually tailored to each individual garage owner and dealership’s needs and wants, rather than trying to crowbar them into an off-the-shelf kind of package.’
