Vertu wins Twitter fight

Time 12:41 pm, June 12, 2011

forresterVERTU’S Derby Seat site has trounced the competition in a three-way sales fight this weekend.

The dealership – which only became part of the Vertu business last August – sold a staggering 13 Seats this weekend.

That put it well ahead of rivals Marshall Seat in Leicester (on eight sales) and Grants Seat in Braintree (on four).

Chief executive Robert Forrester was delighted with the win after losing out to Daksh Gupta in a Honda sales battle last weekend by just half a car.

‘The team coming together nicely at this dealership we bought last August,’ tweeted Forrester.

The competition between the three dealerships was organised as a bit of fun on social networking site Twitter.

Daksh Gupta tweeted at the end of the battle: ‘No losers in these competitions though just good fun! Well done Derby worthy winners.’

Darren Williams of Grants added: ‘Last customer of the day dealt (Hurrah!) and one other but no signed order for them so we won’t count that one. That’s us done on a disappointing four compared to the seven last weekend… so on that basis I’m out!’

We’ve certainly enjoyed the fight – you can read back over the trio’s tweets here in this specially created list for the event.
