VOLKSWAGEN Group UK has appointed Nithia Pillay (pictured) as its new group aftersales and customer quality director.
Pillay is taking over the role from Alison Jones, who became Volkswagen UK brand director in July.
After 12 years with Volkswagen’s global business, Pillay has moved to the UK from Kassel, Germany, where he previously led the sales channel development division in group aftersales. He has an extensive background in sales and aftersales in the areas of fleet sales, marketing and parts planning in Volkswagen Group in his native South Africa.
His early career was spent working with Shell SA and the South African National Oil Company, in sales and marketing capacities. Most recently, Pillay was responsible for developing the Group Aftersales Digitalization and Aftersales 2025 strategies.
In his new role, he will lead the Volkswagen Group’s ongoing drive to improve the quality of customer experience at every touch point, as well as overseeing the Group’s aftersales services and business, including the Trade Parts Specialists and Paint and Body networks.
Pillay said: ‘I’m looking forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead as the company continues to expand mobility, digital and aftersales offerings.’
Volkswagen Group UK managing director Paul Willis said: ‘I’m very pleased to welcome Nithia on board. His in-depth knowledge of the parts and aftersales market will be invaluable as we develop this growing area of our business. I wish him every success in his new role.’
