THE Spinnaker Tower, Portsmouth, once again played host to the Car Dealer Power Awards this week – and we have you to thank.
Not for the lousy weather on the night – but rather for the companies we handed out the awards to.
Unlike a lot of other awards programmes in the motor industry, the Car Dealer Power Awards are voted for entirely by our readers – the nation’s car dealers. We have no influence over the outcome of the results – we only host the awards and get the trophies made!
Companies won by accumulating the highest number of ‘excellent’ scores in each category. And if there was a tie, the company with the largest number of positive comments claimed the gong.
Happily, there were some new winners this year showing they take dealers’ views on board and strive to improve their service. But there were also a number of companies that won for a second – in some cases a third – time, confirming that they are continually providing a high level of service.
The awards also marked the first time I had to present the awards with our advertising manager Duncan Chappell. And despite a few bad gags (mostly delivered by Duncan), I was proud to recognise the companies and manufacturers that have a strong partnership with dealers.
