Arnold Clark gives youth teams sporting chance to win kits and cash

Time 10:33 am, May 21, 2019

DEALERSHIP group Arnold Clark is giving away 300 sports kits as well as a chance for teams to win a share of a £3,000 grand prize.

The Gear Up For Sport competition is back for 2019 and open to all youth sports teams from the ages of four to 15, whether they take part in – for example – dancing, netball, football, gymnastics, cricket or rugby.

To enter, a team representative needs to visit arnoldclark.com/gear-up-for-sport, fill in their team details and they’ll be entered into the draw. Winning teams will be able to choose from either playing kits or training gear in a range of colours.

Chief executive and group managing director Eddie Hawthorne said: ‘We know how important sport is for young people and Gear Up For Sport is a great opportunity to give something back to our local communities.

‘Over the years, we’ve given away more than 1,000 kits to youth sports teams throughout the UK and we can’t wait to hear from the next generation so we can help them get ready for the new season.’

Last year’s competition saw a record number of entries, with winners from a diverse range of sports including archery, beach volleyball, boxing, cheerleading, trampolining, lawn bowls, shinty and wheelchair basketball.

As well as the chance to get the new kits, there’s also an opportunity for teams to add to their club’s budget with the Team Spirit competition. This year, there’s £3,000 to be shared between three lucky winners.

All they have to do is send a picture featuring team members showing their team spirit. When all entries are received, they’ll be posted on Arnold Clark’s Facebook page and the three clubs whose pictures get the most likes will take away a cash prize. Last year’s competition generated 322 entries receiving more than 95,000 likes.

The competition runs until Wednesday, September 18.
